Less dark and more bright colors would have been great in a humorous book called “The colour of Magic”, me thinks. Not sure if the style fits the story tho, the shadows and expressions of the characters felt too harsh for the mood of the book. The illustrations were nice, not heavily inked like those superhero comics. From the few pages I read from the book, I realized that the descriptions Terry Pratchett makes are way more beautiful and detailed than what is depicted in the graphic version, so you are bound to lose some of the magic there. I also got the book from the library so I could compare, if just a little. However, I still feel it was a nicely done job among other similar graphic novels. The story felt a bit chopped, but I was expecting it because that usually happens when converting from a book into a graphic novel. This scene cracked me up, I laughed like a hyena When I read the names of our main characters Twoflower and Rincewind, I found it… “peculiar”, but then the comedy started to jump at me like hot popcorn and there was no turning back. I liked the description of the Discworld and how the Great A’Tuin turtle felt like a wise, almost philosophical entity. Like with most books, I started reading with a serious approach, like you would LOTR.
